HER STORY
How She Got Here
Dr. Riggin did not arrive at Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) through a simple path. She came from a background in Electrical Engineering Technology and Biomedical Technology — fields built on the idea that systems are interconnected, that symptoms have underlying causes, and that true understanding comes from looking at the whole rather than isolating the parts.
That way of thinking, it turned out, fit TCM perfectly.
She founded Healing Touch Oriental Medicine early in practice, and in the over thirty years since, she has built a practice centered on one principle: meet patients where they are and find out what is actually driving their health concerns.
Her clinical focus has always been the complex cases. Patients with hormonal imbalances that no medication has resolved. People with unexplained infertility, years of chronic pain, or allergy patterns their allergist can't explain. Patients who have been told everything looks normal, when nothing about the way they feel is normal at all.
Dr. Riggin's background in systems-based technology informs how she listens, how she synthesizes information, and how she builds a picture of what is happening beneath the surface. She asks the questions other providers are not trained to ask — using a diagnostic lens drawn from a tradition far older than modern medicine that sees patterns and imbalances that lab tests are not designed to detect.

She served as a board member of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association, was elected President twice by her peers, and successfully lobbied Florida's legislature to modernize TCM and acupuncture law — three years in a row. She was then appointed to the Florida State Board of Acupuncture by two governors and served as Vice Chair — a recognition not only of her clinical standing, but of her commitment to the profession and to the patients it serves.
