Dr. Mary Riggin, Founder & Director
Dr. Riggin is a Licensed Acupuncturist (FL License AP725), Acupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine (FL) and Doctor of Acupuncture (RI).
She is founder and director of Healing Touch Oriental Medicine, and has been in private practice in Clearwater since 1996. She specializes in hormone balancing, allergies, asthma, sluggish thyroid (even with normal labs), infertility, facial rejuvenation, chronic pain, osteo-arthritis, family health, and difficult cases.
Her use of full scope Oriental Medicine as a form of Primary Healthcare makes Healing Touch Oriental Medicine an exceptional center for healing and restoration. Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic techniques are used to evaluate. A variety of treatment modalities are available, and include a painless style of acupuncture, a specialized Acupoint compression technique (no needles, just as effective) Chinese herbal medicine, Food as Medicine, life style coaching, and Oriental bodywork (this includes tui na massage, cupping, gua sha, manual traction and other specialized bodywork techniques.)
She is the creator of "Boost the Immune System in 6 Weeks" Home Study program and "Natural Pain Relief Academy" - an online self-help program. She also wrote the book:
"Freedom from Junk Food in 7 Days."
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Riggin is involved in political activism in Florida, and teaches advanced educational programs to licensed health care professionals.
She has been featured on various TV and radio shows, produced and hosted "Health Options" TV show, and co-created and produced "Food is the First Medicine" Radio Show. She frequently teaches classes on natural healthcare throughout her community.
She is a former board member of the Florida State Board of Acupuncture. She was appointed to this gubernatorial position by former Governor Lawton Chiles and former Governor Jeb Bush.
She was published in the book, A Woman's Guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Alternative Healing, in 1998. She writes and publishes educational newsletters and writes articles for online and print publications.
She is a graduate from the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in St. Petersburg, FL, where she studied under the best doctors from China, as well as a 2 year private internship with a Master TCM doctor from China, and was invited to practice with her mentor for an additional 5 years. She earned an Undergraduate AAS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from QCC in New York City.
