#1 Reason to Avoid BOTOX® for Beauty

When considering BOTOX®, it’s important to think about a few potential downsides.
For starters, there are some side effects that can occur, such as bruising, swelling, and even headaches. Plus, the results are temporary, typically lasting just a few months before you need to go in for another treatment.
And then there's the risk of allergic reactions; some people might find that they react negatively to the ingredients in BOTOX®.
Ethically, some individuals feel that using BOTOX® supports unrealistic beauty standards, which can be a concern. If you're looking for alternatives, there are plenty of other skincare and anti-aging options available that don't involve injections.
In my opinion, the #1 Reason to avoid BOTOX® is because it is derived from botulinum toxin. A Neurotoxin. Continued exposure could lead to serious health issues. In my opinion - putting anything in your body that doesn't qualify as FOOD by definition, should be highly scrutinized. In other words, the benifit must significantly outweigh the risks.
According to the FDA website:
Each vial of BOTOX® COSMETIC contains 100 units (U) of Clostridium botulinum type A neurotoxin
complex.
Definitions:
Neuro- (or neuro) is a prefix or combining form that means "nerve," "nerves," or "the nervous system".
Toxin - refers broadly to any substance that is harmful, poisonous, or irritating to the human body.
Read that again. Neurotoxin. That's poison to your nervous system. For what? Concern about a wrinkle in the moment is more important and worth risking a dibilitating disease in the future? All for vanity?
We need to do better.
Additionally, extended use could potentially alter brain chemistry and endocrine function, leading to various health issues over time. Since it is regularly injected into the pituitary reflex point located between the eyes at the midline, it could even impact hormones, which may contribute to endocrine or other issues that become chronic.
So, it's definitely worth weighing these factors before making a decision.
I get it, we all choose our poison. This for some, is their choice. But that's what it needs to be; an informed choice. Know the risks, understand that it is a poison, and make an informed decission. Keep asking yourself the question before the next injection: "Is is worth it?" Many times, the answer is yes, but then, with age and wisdom, the answer changes. Just keep asking the question before injesting ANY type of poison. Whether it's for esthetics, or the taste buds.
"Is it worth it."
In my natural health view, beauty and aging come from within. Whenever someone comes to me for help with visible signs of aging, I don't just sell a cream or injection, I evaluate the interal function and outline a plan to address internal health and the external follows.
The connection is real. The results create vibrance.
